Our good friend and incredible artist Kiah GM is a bit of a PAGEANT all star. She has worked with us on several prints, is responsible for the wicked header images on our website, and most recently, designed our window installation at Monk House Design.
We thought it would be nice to introduce you to the special human who is such a wonderful part of our lives – please meet Kiah!

What do you do? Who is Kiah?
I make images. I love collage. I live in Melbourne and work between here and Sydney. I walk a lot and get up early. I love my cat and eating oysters. My new favourite is D’Affinois with honeycomb.
How did you come to know and collaborate with the Pageant girls? What has been your favourite project to work on?
We met years ago through friends, I think. We now share a studio, the collaboration conversation started here. Designing prints is exciting for me. I especially loved making the Heartbreaker print. It’s great seeing people wearing the clothes.
Can you tell us a bit about your process with your work? How do you end up at your final product?
Its bit like dressing a room - it’s about the balance of colour, shape, form, texture. I collect images, books, magazines. I love old interiors mags. I work on a computer or at my desk. I collage, paint, draw and use Photoshop.
I love your instagram feed, especially when you share your collages and favourites from fashion week - what do you look out for? what are your favourite things in fashion right now?
Miuccia Prada - always interesting. Dries Van Noten ditto. Undercover & Jun Takahashi!
People who dance to the beat of the their own drum and create their own world – and we can go visit. Uniqlo is amazing too.
What can we expect from you next?
I’m making a new series of works to exhibit next year. Bigger scale. Something with photographic elements. And more collabs.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Working with Laila Sakini / music & pictures. Classic combo.
Do you listen to music while you work? What do you listen to? Are you reading anything right now? What was the last movie you saw?
I listen to the radio. Classic FM 105.9, all the time. Headphones always.
I'm reading New Yorker film reviews and cartoons. Also The Thin Man – it’s a private detective yarn by Dashiell Hammett. I saw Bladerunner 2049. Not sure about it. Mad Max. The Eyes of Laura Mars. Klute. Network. The film stock produces great colours.I like watching movies. And TV.
