PAGEANT’s ‘Signals’ trans-seasonal collection stemmed from discussions of the possibility and challenges of urban growth, adaptation to new environments and the beauty and function of architectural forms in the face of an unknowable future.

Grounded by their characteristic odes to sportswear and focus on functionality, PAGEANT’s ‘Signals’ collection is at once paradoxically modern and nostalgic. Slinky tops and slacks with sporty stripes evoke 1970s bombshells lounging on bleachers and popping bubblegum, with a colour palette that brings to mind the photographs of Lydia Wegner. PAGEANT’s signature gusset tops are reinvigorated with contrast mesh in shades of bright-green as well as subdued smoke grays and nudes.

Oversized hoodies with exaggerated cord detailing; tailored track pants and printed sweatshirts – emblazoned with custom print by Tristan Ceddia – hark back to athletic street wear of the ‘90s. A classic shift silhouette is re-imagined with a utilitarian twist - as a thick nylon pinafore with combat-inspired square pockets, stitching and looped straps; details which also recur in a maxi skirt, a crop top and a ‘fighter belt’.

Contrasting panels appear in skirts and bodices, a printed poncho and a two-tone coat. Denim returns in crisp white, for a belted high-waist skirt and wide-leg jeans.
